Kali is a system developed and practiced thru the years in the Philippines dated back to the discovery of the islands by
the Portuguese sea navigator - Ferdinand Magellan in 1521.
The brutal martial art was practiced by the natives and was their tool to fight the invaders.
Originally the natives used short blades ( machetes and knives ) but as the time passed the training tools changed to a Ratan stick , rubber knives and empty hands .
In differenciation from other martial arts that use weapons - PTK is the only art that starts the training with a weapon .
